Should 330k+ miles scare me away from this?

Just got a quote from Pep Boys for the power steering pump and it's only like $300 so if it needs that, that's not too bad...

A power steering pump is about a 1 hour job from the time you start getting tools together to the time you wash your hands. I would not give them $300 to do it. If you are new to working on your own vehicles, this would be a great place to start.
I would also suggest if you are not looking to work on your own vehicle, this may not be the one you want.
No way. No way it is worth more than 1k. That many miles, he is kidding himself. Not saying don't buy it, but a 4runner of that age with MUCH lower miles can be had from around that price.
7 years ago, I bought a 90 with 120k on it for 2500. You don't get to recoup tire cost. Consider it the cost of owning a car. What good are the tires if the engine blows tomorrow.

I just bought a 1993 4runner everything works 2 sets of good tires 307000 miles. Engine only has 70k perfect running and driving condition. Came with 2 cv axels in box for 1400 this guy wants way to much. Putting new tires on is almost a red flag because now you don't know if it needs an alignment or not. I wouldn't pay more then like 1200. Good luck buy smart!

You realize odometer readings don't affect value on these old runners/trucks as much as general condition does, right? I've seen plenty of cheap trucks with problems that had low miles.
I've got 310,000. If I listed tomorrow I'd put it up for $4200. It would sell for close to asking price.

I'm getting it checked out by a local mechanic up there with a group of guys that are passionate about 4runners so I feel much better. They are only charging me $75 for a pre-purchase inspections where they will look everything over and give me a run down on what it needs including a compression test.
Lady selling it said the lowest she would go is $1700. I'm thinking because I'm investing the $75-100 she might go $1600 for me. Either way if the car is a good one, I won't quibble over $100...
