Shrockworks skid screws

It appears tha tthe Shrockworks skids come with standard, exposed head screws.

Has anyone replaced them with a cap screw like this:

No. I've original Shrockworks hardware on my 2013 since then and have no issues with anything. I wouldn't over think it unless OCD Gods urging you upon

I hear you. I'm coming from a bad experience on a LR Defender and it was a ***** resolving it.

Yes, I replaced mine with the hardened cap bolts.

You wouldn't happen to know what size/type you bought? I'm waiting to hear back from Shrockworks but thought I'd get a jump on it.

I've scraped up a few in the past couple years and I live in Florida. It's not a bad idea if your on the rocky roads out west.
The stick nuts however will be a problem. I lost one on my T-case skid when I did my exhaust. I drilled and tapped a new one right in the frame. I'm gonna be pulling the whole package down for some maintenance and I would bet I'll be fighting the remaining stick nuts lol.

I know from experience that button head allen screws strip way easier that regular allen screws.

I know the regular ones are not as smooth and cool as the button head style but I would probably go with them instead.

OP - I've never had a fastener fail from ARP. https://arp-bolts.com/

The interior hex portion of the head strips much easier that a standard socket head screw.

If you look at them both side by side the button head style has a lower head so there is less material for the allen wrench to grab.

I have not had a problem with the threads stripping with either style.
