Speaker sizes on a 2004 SR5

I've done a bunch of research and have only become more confused... hoping you guys can verify a few things for me.

What size are the rear speakers on a non JBL 2004 SR5? Crutchfield seems to suggest 5.25" and I've read that online in a few places, but most people say the rears are 6.5"... can either go in depending on the adapter you use?

Is it possible to put 2-way speakers in the back or will there not be enough room for a tweeter sticking out of the cone?

What is the best option for the front speakers? Drop 6x9's in to the factory mounts, or get an adapter for 7x5" or 6.5" speakers? I realize this may be subjective...

Finally, any common issues with depth of speakers or mounting that are good to be aware of before ordering parts?

Thanks!!

6x9 components in front and 6.5 coax in the rear, i also amped them using 4 channel amp. I need a sub to round it out and give me some bass. For the brackets I just used the ones on my stock speakers and “altered” them a bit. I have a 2007 SR5.

Front are 6x9 and the rear are 6.5, the factory 'mounts' are actually part of the speaker, you can do a little surgery on them and carefully remove the stockers. You can buy mount/adapters too.

2-way is fine for room in the rear, the front will fit but again some surgery is required with trimming of the door panel.

nychorn beat me to it...I need a sub too!
