When my car idles there is a small squeak or chirping sound that I think is coming from the alternator. When I throttle down the sound seems to go away.The belts look good but I don't think the alternator has been replaced and I just hit 176,000. Failing alternator? Alternator bearing? Loose belt? Any ideas or threads on this would be greatly appreciated.
