Since my Canadian geography is more than atrocious, how far away in km or miles is it from your house? Did they find the rest of the stolen items?

Word to the wise for the OP and others: don't leave your spares lying around. Invest in a $30 numerically coded lock box, bolt that puppy to the wall, and enjoy your blanket of security.

In any case, looks like the RCMP found the 4Runner out in Summerland BC - it's sitting at a lot after being towed. Apparently minimum amount of damage - the only thing the officer said was some roof rack damage... not sure what that means.

Hopefully getting some pictures tomorrow - definitely interested to see what the current state is...

It has yet to really sink in that the vehicle was recovered - being in limbo regarding the state has me a bit concerned. But hey, if it hasn't been stripped then it can't be that bad!

It will be weird to drive it again (always feels 'violated' afterwards - had my Civic stolen once upon a time) but nice to have it back for winter. I was super bummed about not having a capable vehicle for moving the dog and snowboards around.

It's about 700km away - certainly not close. I don't think they found any of the stolen items, wasn't mentioned - I'll assume if they didn't find the perpetrators then they didn't find the goods.

Fingers crossed! I'll keep posting as things develop. I should be home Wednesday or Thursday so an eventful week is in the works.

sorry to hear about this mate. flippin' idiots man. thing is...your runner is one-off. they won't be able to get far with it. will likely part it out. scour craigslist and ebay daily for your parts. they will turn up maybe even on this forum or other toyota forums. thieves are stupid, you might be surprised. good luck with the recovery mate.

What are the other popular forums? Someone keeps breaking into my 1st gen, and they loosened all the hard top screws last time... I am afraid this'll be me next time they come!
