Suspension upgrade OME/Superflex paired with [INSERT SHOCK HERE]

Hey guys,

With the Holidays upon us bringing the good deals it's time for me to pull the trigger on a new suspension.

I've got an '06 Sport with Shrockworks front bumper, Gobi Stealth w/ ladder and a set of C4 sliders awaiting the removal of the xreas. Also I plan to eventually tow a Smittybilt Scout trailer or something of the kind and possibly add a winch.

With that said I think it's be best to go with OME 885 coil in the front and either Toytec superflex or OME 895 in the back. I'm leanin more toward the superflex as it seems like most people like the ride quality better and I've recently found that a set of airbags can be inserted to not allow the back to sag while towing. Any opinions or experience with both or either one?

Now as far as shocks I'm undecided between Bilstein 5100s all around or OME 90000 for the front and OME 60020 for the rear or possibly 5100s for the rear. I wasn't able to find much info and comparison between these combinations. Does anyone have any experience with paring Bilsteins with OME/Superflex coils ?

I hope if we can get some of these questions answered here this info can be beneficial to a lot of people needing to upgrade and optimize their ride quality.

From what I've read on these forums, the 5100s are good but are generically valved when compared to the OME which are more "tuned" for the application so to speak. I also believe you'll want the 886 coils as that is their "heavy" load spring seeing as you have a shrockworks bumper and soon the c4 sliders.

I was thinking about the 886 I'm just scared it would be too much...

Per the "suspension options" sticky at the top of the 4th Gen forum:
• Front coils-should provide 2.5”-3” lift for listed application
- 883-Good for leveling the front with stock rear-approx 1.5" lift
- 884-For use on stock weight v6
- 885-For use on stock weigh v8, or v6 with added weight
- 886-For use on v8 with added weight

as well as the information on the toytec lifts site:
OME-884 Coils - Stock/Light Load (0-70 lbs) - Approximately 2.5" Lift
OME-885 Coils - Medium Load -(70-180+ lbs) - Approximately 2.5" Lift
OME-886 Coils - Heavy Load - (230lbs+) - Approximately 2.5" Lift

The shrockworks is 146 Lbs, sliders are 65lb each so 130 and then I guess a winch with synthetic rope would be about 40-50. You may be right my friend.. I might need to consider the 886 for the front.

check out the arb application guide. Also the weight of the rails will be somewhat distributed along the length of the truck. Are you considering UCAs?

I was trying to find info on the arb site but couldn't. I remember before I was able to select my vehicle and see available products but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore or I'm just not looking at the right place. I was considering ucas but maybe not this time around.. I might wait til the tax season for that.

I remember before I was able to select my vehicle and see available products but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore or I'm just not looking at the right place. I was considering ucas but maybe not this time around.. I might wait til the tax season for that.

Yeah that's pretty much the same generic info but I wanted to see some opinions from people with similar setup and see which route they've gone with. Also it is true that the rack and the sliders weight will be distributed between front and rear axles so I think best option might be all OME 886/895 with respective shocks. I'm gonna wait and see if anyone else has anything different to say.
