Synthetics I've used

I've used synthetics in every location I can... Difs, transfer case, tranny, and engine.

I use them in every car I own.

1990 Mustang 5.0 168K original miles

2000 Ford Excursion V10 125K original miles

2004 4Runner 206K original miles

and now a 2007 V6 4Runner 20K original miles

From my research, I always knew synthetics were better than standard oil, but I really became convinced, when I blew a head gasket on my 1990 mustang. We pulled the heads and they looked like they had just come out of the box. Other than a slight carbon on the combustion chamber and a thin coat of oil, they were super clean. Not one speck of sludge or grime. My buddy took them to his machine shop and we decided to do a valve job, etc. He checked them out and said he couldn't believe the heads had 135K miles on them.
My old 4Runner the 1994 idled so smooth with 206K miles on it, it felt like it wasn't running when at a street light. My friend now has the truck and has put another 10K on it and continues the synthetic tradition in it. I use Amsoil and Mobil 1
