Tacoma rock assault bumper on a 3rd gen?

I'm looking at bumpers an really like the trail gear Tacoma front bumper, but I didn't know if one ha ever been put on a 4runner? And if so were there a lot of modifications required?

Also if it won't work what are some bumper recommendations, I'm trying to stay under $600.

savage and addicted make bumpers similar to the trail gear for $400-$500

Nothin' like a good ol' ARB.

Expensive, some modification required, and for 1st gen Tacomas.

I've looked at the savage and the addicted bumpers, I just think that the rock assault hugs the body lines better.

I would love an ARB but can't afford one

What's the main reason for a tube front bumper? Looks or protection?

I'm not doubting any of the bumpers could take a beating, but if your bumper hugs the body closely it can also lead to body damage.


Any of those bumpers will flex and move while the truck is torquing, the closest hugging probably wouldn't be my first choice. Just my .02

wow if i could get that for my arb i would give it away in a heartbeat!!

that tg taco bumper is really nice for the money. I have a friend who has it and it is pretty sturdy. Im really sure it would fit. i looked at how it mounts and it shouldn't have any issue on a 4runner. the frame is about the same from the cab foreword.

I didn't mean hug like tight to the body sorry, it just looked like the savage bumper didn't really "follow" the body lines, I'll probably end up ordering the rock assault, and it is mainly for protection and the addition of a winch.

And j-money if you'd deliver to north Carolina I'd give ya $500

Well I bit the bullet and just placed my order for a trail gear bumperarty: hopefully it will fit with little to no modification, I'll post pics as soon as I get it
