NEWB here and first post on the forum! I appreciate all of the specific knowledge you folks have about the T4R and it has helped me a lot in understanding details that dealers can't tell you.
I just had a remote start with alarm installed on my 2008 T4R Limited V6. It's the Autopage C3-RS-730 2-way LCD Remote Start Alarm. I have two issues that hopefully you guys can help me out with here!
Most Importantly
1. The installation tech said that pressing unlock twice will not work to unlock the rear tailgate. The reason is that when you hit unlock once, it sends a signal to the system, unlocks the driver side door, then sends a signal back. This is too long of a time to press unlock a second time for the tailgate to unlock. When we tried this, the rest of the doors opened, but the tailgate did not. He ended up setting it so that all the doors and the tailgate unlock by pressing unlock once. Anyone run into something similar with this or other remote start systems?
Of Lesser Importance
2. With the stock key fob, I had the ability to open the rear tailgate window. The tech who installed the system said that is no longer an option with the new system. I could use the stock key fob to do it, but don't really want to have the extra bulk on the keychain. Any thoughts on wiring this to work?
