My hometown is Bozeman/Belgrade. Graduated from Belgrade High and went to MSU in Bozeman. Beautiful country. If you like Steak, head out to Manhattan MT to the Oasis ad have a tasty hunk of cow.

I alos lived in CO for 15 years. Head to up to Estes Park and go through Rocky Mountain Nat Park.

I'll also recommend driving up through RMNP- from Denver you might take I-70 west to I-40 up over berthoud pass to Grand Lake. Drive trail ridge road back over to Estes Park and back out to I-25 through Ft Collins. Might plan on staying overnight in grand lake area. Tons of wildlife (moose out the wazoo) and great views of the Indian Peaks and continental divide the entire route.

Someone also recommended Glacier NP - not sure where your wedding is but if you have time to see glacier, it is really impressive - the going to the sun road will be crazy busy but I backpacked through Glacier last summer and found the Two- Medicine area to be equally beautiful and less crowded.

Also if you are going to be driving at night up there, it can get foggy and seriously be careful with your speed and keep sharp eyes out for wildlife.

If you're looking to camp in GTNP the best options imo are:

Signal Mountain Campground -- The amenities / location combination is the best. I'm not sure if you are looking to rough it or not, but this campground has the nicest shower facilities i've ever seen for a NP campground (individual shower rooms). It's right on Jackson Lake and you can walk down to the rocky beach. Right next door you have a general store and the Signal Mountain lodge, which contains Trapper Grill where you can get some great nachos. Like all GTNP campgrounds it's first come first server so you need to arrive somewhat early to get a spot.

Jenny Lake Campground -- Amazing location for not having to fight Jenny Lake crowds. Short walk to Jenny and great views. This is the most popular campground and hardest to secure a site in.

You cannot miss Chief Joseph and Beartooth Scenic Highways. You can skip Yellowstone. If want to offroad near Beartooth, can drive up to Hell Roaring Plateau on west side of canyon (Beartooth Highway switchbacks climb the east side) - it is 7 miles of very rough gravel that ends on upper plateau with hiking trail that goes forever into high mtn. lakes and more unbelievable views.
A very nice gravel drive is 17 miles up Sunlight Basin/Creek. It starts at bottom of Chief Joseph Highway switchbacks and goes south - at about 17 miles the road is washed out from spring runoff.
Bighorn Mtns. in north central WY are very recreational - lots of forest service roads, campgrounds. Highway up and over mtn. near MT border at Ranchester/Dayton, or again, if want to offroad a little, can take Red Grade gravel road up the mtn from Sheridan/Bighorn connecting to highway - and once on top Bighorns, there are forest service roads going everywhere.

Grand Teton seems to be overall consensus, thanks for he advice. Would be nice to take a quick look but I'm not one for tourists and be groups of people. So I'll probably end up passing. Austin to Denver, 15 hours. Austin to the New Mexico line at Texline, 10 hours. We just put the hammer down and go. If we leave at 6 a.m. we're setting up camp about 1 p.m. the next day.
