Hi I am new to Forum.
Just bought 2008 SR5 with cloth seats and upgrading to leather.
Got them at a junk yard. Will the airbags from the new seats work in truck or will I have to have them reprogramed? Have not established yet if the power is there for the power seats on the leather. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2003 conversion to leather power seats
I just found your "years" old post on converting to power seats. I have the same issue. Looks like you fused the power wire. What amp are you using there? Since you came off the lighter I presume that wire gauge is sufficient for the power seat motor.... Not very good at DC. Did you have to actually ground the motor then or is the clip grounded just not powered?

I just recently got the Katzkin Tuscany perforated leather and it's awesome. Absolutely 100% love it. Better than factory IMO. I'm new to the forums and will make my build thread soon, just waiting on my roof rack and grille to come in.

Does anyone know if any leather seats from 03-09 fit? It always seems like theres a hangup with 03-04 and the rest of the years. I would much rather use 09 leather seats than 5 year older ones for my 04.

Side seat air bags. It was an option in the 03 and early 04. Not very popular. They became standard in the late 04 to 09 if I remember correctly. I have the old brouchers but it's not in front of me at the moment.
i have manual cloth seats with electronic lumbar control and side airbag. found manual leather seats with electronic lumbar control and side airbag at local toyota dismantler. 600 bucks. want to install but before i do, want to make sure what steps are needed to ensure side airbag does not deploy. is it simply plug and play? or do i have to disconnect battery or have ignition in certain position, etc. does anyone know?

I have an 2003 Sport Edition, but want to replace it with leather seats from an 2005 Limited. Does anyone know if the wiring harness is in the 2003 to power the seats? I took a look under the seat and anything that resembles a plug of some sort, already has something plugged into it.
If I make the swap, do I need to take the 2005 rails and everything, or can I just scoop the seats alone?

There are multiple posts here stating seats from the '03-'05 MYs are electrically compatible; below is my experience from swapping seats from an '03 Limited with side airbags into my '03 SE with no side airbags.
My left floor harness was prewired with power to drive the seat motors for the driver's seat. No power in the right floor harness for the seat motors in the passenger seat. All harnesses from my SE were physically compatible with the plugs in the LTD seats.
Neither harness is prewired for power for the seat heaters.
As my SE only has front airbags, I didn't have to worry about the side airbags in the LTD seats. Otherwise, sensors in the seats are functioning correctly (e.g. passenger occupancy sensor, seatbelt buckle sensor).
If you can grab the seats with the frame rails still attached, you'll have an easier time with the swap - the front seats are only bolted to the frame by four 14mm bolts each. Otherwise, everything I've ever read states all 4th-gen seats are physically interchangeable.
Somewhere buried in this forum are a few posts by CookieRoe stating there were changes to the airbag system for '05. I don't know enough to say anything more, though.
I have the wiring for both of the floor harnesses from the LTD from the firewall to the seats - lemme know if you need any pics of the seat connectors. Also have a section of the main dash wire leading from the radio to the center console box (containing the seat heater switch wiring) if needed.

Does anyone have info on how to wire the passenger power seat? I just did this exact swap and can’t figure out how to wire the lumbar on passenger side.

Did you ever figure out the process to get power to the passenger side seat? I see from previous posts the cigarette lighter was used but not exactly how to do it.
