Hi everyone! I am nearly ready to pull the trigger on a '99-'00 4Runner Limited and would like your thoughts and opinions.
The vehicle I found spent its first 150k miles in Washington state, and the remaining 43k miles in Illinois. I would like your opinion on the undercarriage rust (pics below). Is it not too bad? Is it too late to seal it up and protect it? I live in Minnesota, so I'd bring the vehicle here and would like to rust-proof it right away. How big of a challenge would that be given its current state?
Ideally I would find something in CA, AZ, or TX, etc... bring it to MN and rust-proof the untarnished frame... but this one in IL has e-locker and I love the color combo. Just wondering if you'd personally wait to find something with less rust from a southern state. I'm not in a time-crunch and have no issue flying south then driving home. Thoughts?

Just following up on this post from 2018. Did you buy it? Did you have any issues with rust or any regrets on the purchase? I'm about to pull the trigger on a 1997 that seems to have rust around the door frame and back window but I haven't seen underneath yet. Hopefully I'll see it this weekend.
