TOP GEAR - UK vs US

Ahhh maybe I'm late to the party but I thought Top Gear UK had ENDED completely.

I know there is a sh$tty US version but that is it.

Are they bringing the UK version back?

You must be thinking of old Top Gear that ended in 2000. Nothing like what it is now but I liked it. Fifth Gear was supposed to replace old Top Gear but Clarkson brought back Top Gear a year later. I'd rather watch Fifth Gear than Top Gear USA too.

Well my understanding is that after the 14th season Top Gear UK was cancelled.

Went off the air with no new episodes.

Then it was brought back to life in 2011 (two 6 ep seasons) and 2012 had seasons 17 & 18 so far.

I mean its a no brainer, I watched the first 2 seasons of US to give it a shot before I decided it was bad ha. Like most everyone has said , they lack charisma and they're relationship with each other is rather weak. The show is pretty bland and boring to be honest, I don't find myself laughing or keeping interest at all. The challenges they pick are pretty weak as well. Such as when they were finding the toughest truck in the US they could've picked way harder and more interesting challenges.

I travel to the U.K. on business several times a month and make a point of watching "Top Gear" which is often presented in "back to back" episodes on the "Dave" network. The popularity of the program has as much to do with the three host as it does with the subject matter and unfortunately the U.S. version is sorely lacking in this regard.

Top Gear US is a joke compared to UK. The UK does much better as far as going in depth on pro's and con's of the vehicles, whereas the US version just seems to be more geared towards....well US viewers "lets blindfold our self and see if the passenger can direct us" GTFO OF HERE. With that said i watch both.

I'm with the UK Top Gear. They are way more refined and actually give quality reviews of their cars. Plus I'm a huge fan of the arctic tundra race they did.

I did like the US episode where they were wheeling US made trucks and the penalty for breaking down was driving the Toyota.
