You could make the argument that bringing any vehicle, especially modified, to SEMA is a waste of money. This day in age, I doubt the publicity of a SEMA vehicle that drives purchases covers the cost of getting a vehicle there.

Exactly.

The vehicles at SEMA are built for the in-your-face wow factor. They are meant to grab your attention, good or bad. They are meant to draw the buyer into the booth, or at least make a name stick in your head. As in the case of the Tundra, purely meant to draw you into the booth. It's not practical at all, and that's ok because it's SEMA. Very few vehicles are fully functional and practical at SEMA.
