Maybe there is hope for the 4runner to have a optional V8 in the future?

I read in a magazine, do not remeber which one that they dumped it because it did not get any better gas mileage than the 5.7 and had much less power. The magazine said the only advantage the 4.6 had was that is was slightly cheaper. I would not be surprised if they quit making the 4.6 all together. It is used in the Lexus GX460 but that is a very low volume vehicle. I am not sure if the 4.6 is available on the Tundra. If not there will be no use for it.

Yeah, I heard they were ditching the 4.6 altogether. Not sure how accurate that is though.

soon after i posted that i searched CL for LCs and noticed alot of the earlier models featured the 4.7. Sure'd love a TD...
