That’s called marketing. If you notice, under the pics of “their” vehicles, it says, “Vehicle loaned to athlete.” Those aren’t their real vehicles.

The way these typically work is that it's theirs to drive throughout 1 - 3 model years depending on their contract with the manufacturer. The manufacturer wants them in a relatively fresh vehicle.
An added bonus is they usually get paid for every magazine, video, television appearance made that shows the company's logo.

Length of contract obviously depends on how well the athlete maintains their visibility and marquis.
