Anyone have more information on this? Are the tents the same? Is it worth buying or should I just pony up and pay 3x as much as buy from a reputable US brand?

Anyone have more information on this? Are the tents the same? Is it worth buying or should I just pony up and pay 3x as much as buy from a reputable US brand?
I was just doing some browsing around for the best deal possible on a RTT and just realized that if you are an REI member you can get 20% off of any one item from not until 4/10 and you also get free shipping to your local store for pick up. Pretty good deal if you ask me. I'm going to go with this approach.

If you can get 5 people minimum together to buy then yes its worth it. CVT and all the known brands are the exact same tents. All from the same distributors in china. Now interesting thing about treeline is I have yet to find an identical tent to theirs. Makes me intrigued by their tents. They have different style awnings then everyone else. As well as different looking skylights including a clear window in the over hang annex portion.
If there are any other people interested, I think I'm willing to take the gamble to save $1,000. Anyone else?

I'll for sure organize! We saw their tents at Overland Expo West this weekend and they're nice! The light weight, the accessory attachments, and the curved tops (more headroom) make them really desirable. Let's find 4 others!

Why Treeline Outdoors RTT's are the best
I am interested in a group buy if you guys have enough people in time. I will be buying one either way in a few months.
I have been heavily researching RTT'S for a few months now. After considering pretty much all of the major brands out there I have chosen Treeline Outdoors. Listed are the reasons why:
First and foremost their customer service is top notch, these guys are there for you.
Their base is made out of aluminum honeycomb which is the lightest and strongest out there period. It can withstand being driven over by a jeep. You can check that out at the bottom of the page on this link. www.ikamper.com. Other makes are typically filled with foam and are much heavier and weak.
The tent materials are thicker than the other options. They use 380G/m2 for their tent while most others are at 260G/m2. Treeline did a lot of testing and landed on the 380G because it stops wind from penetrating the tent and also keeps out more light so you can nap during the day if need be. If I am buying a RTT to last I am going with thicker material.
Other makes typically use a telescoping ladder as well. These are prone to failure which is why Treeline does not use them. Treeline ladders are adjustable by drilling additional holes for the locking pins. Again if I am buying an RTT to last I would prefer the precise customization of being able to drill the holes where I need them.
Finally their PVC travel cover is 2000G while most others are 1000G. We are talking TWICE as thick. They also add another strip layer of the material inside to protect the ladder from rubbing through the cover. Considering I plan on leaving my RTT on my truck this is a no brainer for me.
Like I had mentioned I have done a ton of research and it is for these reasons that I have chosen Treeline Outdoors RTT's for my purchase. They also have a lot of unique storage options and patented roll up side window awnings etc. I hope this helps people make a decision. There are so many options out there it can be difficult to validate spending more on one tent vs another.
