Value of Used 5VZ TRD Supercharger

I'm assuming this has been posted before but I literally cannot find a single thread about this! How much is a used S/C worth? There's one I'm looking at that has 80,000 miles on it (needs rebuilt), it's a 1st gen, and it doesn't have any hardware with it. The guy doesn't know how much to ask for it.

Gray 1st gen, needs rebuilt, charger only. Probably like 6-800$.

I would start at $500 or $600 for a 1st gen that needs a rebuild. Look into what it will cost to get it rebuilt back to good running condition and let that guide you. Also is it a complete "bolt on package" or will you have to source the little parts for install? There is a lot to be said for not having to chase down little parts. They tend to get expensive when you buy the pieces individually instead of as a kit.


That said - I love my supercharger.

Yeah it doesn't have any of the little parts. And I'm not even sure what all I'd need to buy in order to put it on. I'm assuming there are some different gaskets, bolts, the belt, maybe some different wiring? I found the supercharger thread so I'll be reading through all that to see what all I'd need. Are all those little parts extremely hard to find?

Make sure you price out all the parts you will need to get it up and running. They are more expensive than you would think.

Yeah I know. I found a hardware kit for the 2nd gen supercharger but I can't seem to find one for the 1st gen. I'm also still unsure if I can rebuild it myself or have to send it to Magnason.

They don't make a hardware kit for the 1st gen superchargers anymore. Better to just let it go as alot of that hardware is proprietary and impossible to find.
