VVIVID epoxy carbon fiber wrap

I tried to Imitaite the carbon fiber look on the TRD. The wrap is thick so the details are tough. It looks good in the sun but where it is flat and the sun reflects you can totally tell it’s just a wrap so that’s the downside. This run is not perfect so no need to flame me for my amateur install but you get the idea.

I’m attempting to post photos.

looks great, was a 1x5 ft piece enough to fully cover? I have also thought about this to help save the wear and tear on the soft plastic.

Vvivid is great stuff, I have a few rolls and the carbon fiber is the thickness and can be tricky to work with. Looks pretty damn good though, nice work.

Looks great,but that isn't carbon fiber.

It is vinyl with a carbon fiber print on it.I have a TRD and Im pretty sure it's just a wrap the same as yours.Carbon fiber comes in sheets like cloth and you paste layers together with epoxy and heat them up to the shape you want in a vacuum.

I have some 3m carbon fiber vinyl wrap on my motorcycle.

Either way,looks good though.

Thanks! I don’t know who might think this is actual carbon fiber but you are correct, it is a wrap. How did the 3m CF wrap hold up over time? I think this stuff seems durable but only time will tell and I might not keep it on there anyway.

I was responding to the post above me,and you also mentioned epoxy in the title,so I was confused.The 3M is fine 3 years later on my bike,no peeling or fading.I wrapped most of my fairings matte black,and then a few pieces with the carbon fiber look wrap .Found out what the pro's use and bought it here

Ahh gotcha. Yeah the “epoxy” is part of the vvivid name. There is no epoxy, clearly :lmao:

This stuff comes with a notice stating it is not intended for outdoor use and can get moisture inbetween the layers so this wouldn’t be a good choice for outdoor applications.

Yeah, get the 1.5 x 5. The first time you will do it, it won’t be perfect so plan to do it twice.

Use a heat gun not a hairdryer

Get a sharp breakable knife. Break often.

Clean the part with alcohol, car dressings are hard to get off without it.

I will likely use knifeless tape to cut around the shifter humps as those were the only area I couldn’t get the wrap to stick due to the tight creases.

Have fun take your time. It’s not a ten minute project. Post results!

On the other hand, I bought this cheap-ish shift boot that matches the seats and stitching pretty good so that’s a bonus.

Nice! About to order mine[emoji3] have you thought about adding more on other interior panels to match such as door handle, etc? Think that might look good.

Yeah it prob would look pretty good on that fake metal piece above the glove box. The door handles might be a tough job to wrap but would be pretty cool too!

No clue. I can tell you I have since redone the console...again. I did a much better with the install and the product used looks much better in my opinion.

Its actually a dry carbon fiber although the pics on amazon make it look glossy. It’s easier to install than the epoxy stuff I started the thread with.
