Weird noises coming from my 4R

There are some strange noises coming from (it seems like) the undercarriage of my 4R. Every morning when I go to work in the morning I hear it. I park in covered garage so the sounds echo loud enough for me to hear.

I hear it when I reverse and start turning my wheel. I hear (what sounds like) a rib shot to my 4R. I hear a clunk like something needs to be lubed??? Its a well-maintained 2005 so I cant imagine something needing lube.

My friend has an older toyota truck and he said toyotas make funny sounds especially when turning the wheel to full articulation.

Does anyone else experience this clunking noise probably coming from the chasis or undercarriage? I hope nothing is wrong.

Any feedback would be great.

I get the same exact sound in my 2006. I recently had my 30,000 mile service done so I figured they lubed the drive shaft and whatnot. However, the noise still happens. What gives? :bash:

The two most common sources are the steering limit stops and the driveshaft. The steering stops only are a factor when the wheel is cut all the way (or close to all the way). Grease cures both.

A third thing that will make a little pop is the brakes when they go from holding one direction to holding in the other.

its mostly when i turn the wheel or go up a curb into a driveway. I think it is more a chassis problem than anything else.

next time i service my 4R, I will make sure they lube all the joints.
