This is one "interesting" thread for me (understatement)--I don't have a clue who the vast majority of the groups listed are. I would say this makes me feel old, except I've listened to the same genres since my early twenties. Yes, I like to build fairly serious stereo systems, and I still like stuff loud on occasion, but I'm afraid I don't "speak the same language" as most here. Carry on, fellas--I'll head back to threads I understand now.

Lone Star 92.5 on iHeartRadio plays some great classic rock songs. That's what I listen to in the apartment for the most part.

If I'm driving I'll listen to country with the occasional rap song mixed in during commercials.

Yes! I came across this band because 'Shapeshifter' was on one of the need for speed games.

Also -- Styles of Beyond - 'Nine Thou.' Suni Clay -'In a Hood Near You.' are two other songs that were on the game. It was maybe Need for Speed Most Wanted?

Oh, I absolutely agree. Most people think 'Stryper' when guys say 'Christian bands' and I want to smack them upside the head. LOL

Consider that songs like this one ("Collapsing" by Demon Hunter) are some of the lighter stuff I listen to:



There are other decent bands out there - The Showdown, for instance (there are more but I don't have time to list them right now). They're not even that hard to find. It's just that, IMHO, the 'believers' are willing to buy 'compromised' music as long as it has a message; and the rest have already HEARD the compromised music, and persist in believing that almost all Xtian music sucks. LOL

FYI - as I've said before - I don't listen exclusively to Xtian music. Mostly, yes, but I'm no stranger to Shadows fall. I was raised on Pantera, Prong, Obituary, GWAR, Metallica, and stuff like that, and there are times (e.g., running, lifting heavy weights) when nothing but Reinventing the Steel or listening to Mouth for War will do. :biggrin2:
