whats my car worth

im going to be selling my moms 02 4runner limited in a few weeks when she buys a new car.. i know this is the last year of a 3rd gen and this is a desirable car, what should i realistically be looking to get for her?

its an 02 limited with just over 100K miles. dealer installed remote start. otherwise its dealer serviced and in good shape.

Car is garage kept its whole life so no rust problems at all. has a dent on the rear bumper. but other wise in great shape.

Car also has an aftermarket "little tikes" 3rd row seat in it, this is a bolt in dot approved 3rd row seat made for 3rd gen 4runners ( was about 2K new), seats two. should i leave it in or sell it seperately?

I can't really speak for Milwaukee, but in VA I see that configuration listed for 7-8k often and I feel they usually go for somewhere in that range in excellent condition.

It really depends on the area, but I had an 01 limited with 119k in excellent shape, completely stock, and sold it for 9k last fall. I think no matter where you are you should get at least 7k for it. If you can't sell it for more than that I'll take it and sell it here in Utah haha.

You didn't mention if it was 2WD or 4WD. That will have a huge impact on your asking price.

You keep referring to it as a "car", I'm going to assume that it's 2WD?
(since a 2WD 4runner is essentially just a station wagon).

Send it west. It will sell for probably twice what you could get for it there. Maybe more. If it's a 4wd, that would fetch $12-14k easy.

Put some photos up on here and you'll probably find a buyer if the frame is in solid shape.

I don't think you'll be able to increase asking value for the seat, so unless it is specific to a vehicle (I am not familiar with them at all), I'd pull it out and try and sell it separately.

yeah its 4wd.. with the ram air hood.. i figured saying its a limited, meant all that stuff was std equipment on the limited, but i dont know 4runners that well. im not a big offroad guy so unless its a pickup i call it a car.. lol...

good call on the seat... it is specific to this body style of 4runner, you werent meant to just slap it in any old suv. ( they custom build them for a variety of suvs, but i agree ill probably just pull it and put grommits in the holes.)

Yeah this car is really clean my mom works at home and garage keeps it.. hence the low miles, and no rust. its been a while since i looked at her frame/diff housing ( because i know they have rust issues, and a bunch of my friends are techs) but i recall it being extremely clean when i looked.

good call on the out west... when i post it maybe ill post it out west as well and see if anyone would wanna make a flight to get it.. or get it shipped.. from the 7-8range around here... if i could get 10 out west that would be a 2K diff and they buyer would get it for 11, with shipping... not a bad deal all around.

yeah i hate KBB.. its fairly unrealiable.. espically when i comes to cars with a following.. i got really turned off when it said one of my camaro convertibles was worth like $2500... and the nearest one similar to mine was for sale for 10K, i sold mine for 7500 to move it fast. thats when i kinda lost all faith in them.. they are ok if you have a 2005 honda civic or something.. but anything "desirable" they dont take that into account.
