Where to weld on rock sliders

I'm looking into getting rock sliders for my 3rd gen, but since I don't have the equipment to weld them on myself I need to take it somewhere to get welded. I'm in the North San Diego County area around Poway, so I'd like to know if anyone has a recommendation on what shop to take it to? Also, if anyone could give me an estimated cost, just a ballpark of how much it would cost. It it makes a difference, I want planning on just giving them a decent rattle can job, no powder coating​.

I have a friend that I'm going to fab up some sliders with. He can weld at his house in Huntington or his shop in Long Beach. It's probably too far for you but PM me if you're interested and I can see if he'll set you up.

I had mine welded on at Rough Road Auto Performance in Vista. They charged me <$100 to weld mine on, but the sliders I brought in (Stubbs Welding) already had the gussets/ scab plates welded up so the amount of welding he had to do was minimized. The owner Austin is a good dude and as honest as they come.

They charged me <$100 to weld mine on, but the sliders I brought in (Stubbs Welding) already had the gussets/ scab plates welded up so the amount of welding he had to do was minimized. They're great sliders and Richard @ Stubbs is very easy to deal with. Their reverse kick out sliders for 3rd gens are the ones I have. I like the subtle kick out and they are built with the gussets & scab plates already welded, which cuts down on the remaining install time once they arrive to you.

4x Innovations, for example, provides the gussets and frame plates but it's a DIY once the sliders show up to you. Their prices reflect that cost savings I guess. Stubbs are <$400 shipped and 4x Innovations are <$300 (both bare steel).

Small shop with quick turn around times. I think I waited about a week before mine were ready to ship. It was $65 to my business address in Vista using his UPS account and he added that cost to the invoice. I ran my company UPS discounted rate to see if I could beat it and his beat mine by like $5, so he has good rates on shipping. Just remember to ask for a T4R.org discount, it helps cover some of the shipping!

I was looking at both those sliders and the 4xInnovations, but even with a little more effort welding I don't know if I want to spend over $100 more for the stubbs welding sliders. How far do yours stick out from the body? I would like mine to be tucked just under it so I like how I could adjust the 4xInnovations ones.

Just keep in mind that the 4x Innovations are some of the most economical sliders offered for the 3rd gen. Most sliders are in the $300-$400 range excluding shipping. If budget is paramount, it's an easy option.

As for Stubbs, they offer 2 different angles on his sliders: 7.5 and 15 degrees. I have the 7.5 and they don't fit high and tight but the 15 degree ones would. When I ordered mine I actually wanted them relatively right to the body and he recommended the 7.5 degree ones because he thought my sport flares would cause interference, but I think the 15 degree sliders would have fit. I think it's more of an issue if you have the Limited trim because the door trim would interfere. :shrug:

It did a little, I'll get a quote from there and the Rough Auto shop and go from there, thanks for the recommendations!

As for the sliders, thanks for the pictures. I definitely like those but I don't know if I can do the bump in price, we'll see. I won't be rock crawling every weekend, they're more for the occasional situation to protect my doors, so I don't need the strongest sliders ever just functional ones that can take a few hits in their lifetime.
