They are all pretty similar in design. Here's a pic of one that I found with a quick search.
Anyway, you can see the bolt that sticks through from the outer part and is threaded through the flat bar, which is between the V shaped piece of metal. That V shaped piece will be flattened against the inside of the block, as you tighten the bolt, which holds it in place.
