I had a 94 (2 door) camry. Loved the thing. It was sporty looking with the spoiler and 2 door option.
I picked it up with about 200K on it. V6, sunroof, auto down windows, etc. Not a bad car.
Water pump went out, valve cover leaked and the flex pipe on the exhaust broke, which are all common issues for the car with that mileage. The head gasket ended up going out on it around 220K. I attribute it to the putting a cheap flex pipe on which was a tight fit. I have a feeling after a couple heat cycles it shrunk just enough to move the head and break the seal since it went literally a couple days after I changed the exhaust. I always was trying to nurse the waterpump leak by putting some of that radiator fix in, which may had started the process as well.
Instead of fixing it, I sold it. I've been on the hunt for another the past couple of years and not much ever turns up. I looked at one over the weekend with 55K miles on it, 94 2 door like mine. It was severally neglected though and leaked oil and other issues. What a shame. I would have no problem purchasing another one though. Handling was actually pretty decent as well. Power was lacking from the V6 though. My buddies 3.8liter rendevous would always beat me

I have a 2012 sport with the V6. I chose it because I commute 3 hours round trip every day and it does the trick. I get about 27 mpg at around 80 and it has plenty of power to pass etc. It is pretty comfortable but its no rush to drive.
Bottom line its a good car for what I use it for.

I have a 1999 Camry with the 4 cyl. and it's been a fantastic car. Bought it almost 3 years ago with only 85K on the odometer, and I just cleared 140K with no problems. It's not the best looking generation of the late 90's/early 00's Camry, but it's so reliable and low maintenance.
Call me gramps, but I love driving that car. It's simple, quiet, has cloth seats which I prefer, and has all the essential features that I like (power windows, cruise control, AC, decent sound system).
That being said, if you prefer leather seats and the feel of luxury cars, I would recommend the Avalon.

I have a 2002 Camry, 180k miles. Minor repairs, I can't believe how smooth the car runs at 180 k, what is more unbelievable is there are absolutely no rattles!!

So I am a Camry fanatic. I've owned:
1988 Camry 4cyl LE (180k when sold)
1992 Camry V6 LE (130k when sold)
1997 Camry Supercharged V6 LE (currently has 39k)
2001 Camry 4cyl LE (90k when sold)
2015 Camry Hybrid SE
The 4th gen 4cyl's are bombproof. I've seen them go on for what seems like forever and they can be found fairly cheap. Of course I love the new hybrid I have now, as I usually average 45-55mpg on my commute, but unsure how reliable it will be down the road. My supercharged '97 was a show car (that appeared on a few magazine covers and in DVD's and commercials) and it's been garaged for the last 10 years, but it will still start right up! Need to try and sell it actually as I have no use for it.
