Who else is in the 4th Gen 12 Year Club?

I bought my ’03 V8 Sport Edition 4X4 12 years ago tonight. I had gone on a test drive when the 4th gens first came out with my father since we were both interested. Fast forward to 6 months later or so when I had a car that I could not live with any longer and I wanted to get back into a BOF SUV. Since the v8 4R was the only vehicle I really wanted, I started shopping around. I decided to take a trip to the local dealer that happened to have a 4R exactly the way I wanted it at the end of the month and struck a deal. Now I have 143K on the clock and it still runs like new. As long as I give headlights a couple rounds of Meguiars Plastx and put the schmutz on the body cladding every few months, it still looks pretty damn good. I’ve probably said it on here before, but this is without a doubt the best vehicle I have ever owned.

i'm almost there, I got it new on Oct. 2004. I have the 2005 SR5 V6 with 3rd row seat.

so far, I've changed engine oil, filter, transmission oil, brake fluid rear brake pads and rotors, front pads, front caliper, alternator, battery, tires, air filter, cabin filter, differential fluid, power steering fluid, radiator, radiator fluid. so far so good. no regrets.

Just like you I bought my '03 Sport V8 new. It served me and my three boys for 175,000 miles, until son number 3 totaled it. Since its engine is still living, now in T4R # 2, and I still own it and use it for parts I would consider me a 12 year owner. My son is driving '03 #2 so I got me '03 #3 for me. Good trucks for sure! If you count my father’s ’08 Limited, we have 3 running V8 T4R!

Although I just acquired it, my 03 limited v8 has been in my family for 12 years. My mother bought it new. I bought it last month with 68k on the clock and needing an O2 sensor. Went ahead and did a timing belt and water pump too (water pump had leaked a little but not bad). I really like the truck, handles well and has plenty of power for towing and work.

Agreed. I bought mine in March of 03. I would have bought it sooner, but I wanted an SR5 and didn't want the unpainted cladding. I think one of the happiest days was when I read something (maybe on here) that they were going to offer the appearance package for the SR5s. I didn't believe it at first.

this thread makes me happy. I wasn't fortunate enough to be the first owner of mine, but I'll damn sure be the last. I've had my 03 since 09 with no intentions of parting ways. 180k on the clock and ready to get some more.

I have only had my '03 for a few months, but am very very happy with it. The first Toyota I have ever owned.

04 here. I still love it. Got mine new in late 2004, babied it every day since, lots of pre-emptive maintenance to keep it running the way it is, driven all around NV, CA and UT. Hopefully I'll have it forever and it'll become a weekend toy when I decide to get a "family" SUV but for now I prefer driving it over my wife's 550i and the Porsche Turbo.

I'm still driving my 03' that I bought new in March 2003. It's nearing 240K miles and still drives like new. I've done the timing belt\water pump twice, tires 3 times, windshield 4 times, transfercase (bad seal) once, CV axles, swaybar endlinks & bushings, FJ\Bilstein spring to replace XReas, exhaust, a couple 02 sensors, a fuse for the A/C, rotors, calipers, 1 wheel bearing, belts, filters, and oil. Other than the transfercase leak, driver seat rails, & cracked dash I can't complain about much else. Hopefully Toyota will fix the dash next month.

I bought my first '03 SR5 V6 new in March, '03. I still have it, with 124k. Working on some frame rust issues, but still drive it almost every day. Last September, I bought, from a friend who was original owner, an '03 Limited V8 with 263k. Had to replace xreas system, and a few other odds and ends issues, but am still driving it when not using the SR5. Once I have solved SR5 frame issue, I will make final decision as to which one will remain in garage.

Not quite 12 years, I bought my 03 SR5 V8 in 07 @40K mi. Now at 158K, it's still running smooth and strong like new. It is the best and most reliable vehicle I've ever owned, well, besides my 05 Lotus Elise (with Toyota 4cyl 2ZZ engine). They are both for keep.

I bought mine March 31,2003. V8 Sport Edition with cladding. It has 115,xxx miles of smiles on it now. Other than routine maintenance, the truck as been flawless and super reliable.

I have an 03 SR5, 236K miles, changed plugs, rotors, pads, front calipers, rear differential fluid. I had a A/C Relay go bad...haven't changed the Cat converter(s) the light's been on awhile.. Need to get the zero point calibration done.
