Looking to go offroading, anyone know good areas in the GTA?
Hi, im curious for you folks in the GTA where are some places you go offroading. Im looking to start but dont know around where. If we get enough people maybe we could do a offroading group. Willing to drive quite far.

Unfortunately I don't know where to go and have never gone offroading or on trails, but I'd be interested in joining you.

Either Hamilton / Grimsby which I went a few years back with Jeepers, meh, good for beginners.
Next would be Minden Area

Is there an actual labeled trail or any suggestions ? I am a newbie and just want to get out and try it before building up the rig to take on harder trails.

Found a couple trails as suggested by other members
Concession Lake trail
Minden Hydroline Trail
Now i have a slight lift setup, but dont have sliders, skidplates or winches so im not sure how doable these are for novices.

Is that the minden hydroline trail? How would you rate that in difficulty and whether someone with no sliders/skidplates/winch/bumpers would be able to do it.

Yeah, it’s the hydro line. It’s a beginner run that a stock 4x4 can do. OF4WD uses that trail for their “newbie” runs. I’ll have my truck if there anyways if there are any issues and I also have a stock wrangler coming too.
Definitely don’t run Concession stock.

It’s legally open up to a certain point in the trail where it splits off. After the T (outhouse) it’s closed. You still get to run a good portion of the trail with lots of fun to be had.

Was just checking the map, i see the outhouse junction where it splits north and west are both trails closed off after that point? I have no skid plates/winch/sliders would that be fine. Im just trying to get my feet wet into this before i leave this year, before i start dumping money into mods.

That’s correct. It’s closed after that point.
Your truck will do that trail without issue. We will spot you though any sections you aren’t comfortable with and go nice and slow. I have a winch on my truck if we need it

Hubble appreciate the offer to take us newbs out. Unfortunately my mother in law is in town for the American Thanksgiving holiday so as much as I would love to take you up on the offer I won't be able to make it. Are all trails off limits until the Spring then?

Anytime! There is always next year.
Unfortunately, yes, all trails are closed until May 1st at the earliest (pending trail conditions).
