I'm not sure what the cracks are from and Toyota doesn't ask you either...there are cracks there either way. They know all their dashes are prone to this. If I take it in as is and they replace it that is not fraud. Fraud would be if my dash was perfectly normal and I claimed that cracks I added were from poor design/wear. That would be idiotic. My remark, made in jest, was saying if I added cracks to an already cracked dashboard. They have no way to just repair the ones that are legitimate, nor would they care or try. If there are cracks from wear and tear then they are replacing the dash. I confirmed this with my buddy who works at a local dealership.
I would laugh if they tried to accuse me of fraud on a cracked dashboard, as much as I did when I saw your post.
