ZE6 CSP/TSB Information for Cracked/Sticky Dashboard
As we all have been aware, there's been a CSP (Customer Support Program) in the works regarding crack and/or sticky dashboards on multiple Toyota vehicles. In our case we're only really interested in the 4th gen 4Runners, there's finally a TSB to accompany the ZE6 CSP letter!
So first off the issue is only being covered for 2003~2005 4Runners, in the future the CSP may be expanded to include 2006~2009 4Runners. But as of right now only 2003~2005 fit under the enhanced warranty portion of the TSB & CSP (sorry '06'~'09 guys.)
The warranty enhancement is broken into two sections:
- The Primary Coverage offers warranty enhancement described herein for all owners of covered vehicles until May 31, 2017, regardless of mileage or date of first use of the vehicle.
- The Secondary Coverage supplements the Primary Coverage for some owners by offering the warranty enhancement described herein for 10 years from the date of the first use of the vehicle, regardless of mileage. For instance, if you own a 2009 Camry that was first used on January 1, 2010, you are entitled to the warranty enhancement through January 1, 2020.
The part numbers are updated from the previous dashboard part numbers used, what the difference means I cannot say for sure.
The following is the most current [as of July 2015] version of the ZE6 CSP Dealer Letter and the TSB that accompanies the ZE6 CSP relating to the 4Runner detailing the inspection criteria and instructions regarding replacement of the dashboards.

Technically you don't need a second letter as you are now aware of the TSB and that a repair is available for the condition (which is all the 2nd letter is, a notification that a repair is now available.) You could just show them the printouts or reference the TSB number and that you are experiencing this issue and you'd like to see if it is covered under the CSP/TSB.

Oh trust me, while I may seem like a good Toyota representative to you; I'm sure Toyota is getting some secret Toyota Ninja clan to kill me in my sleep for spreading the word about how to get Toyota to buy you a new Dash. They REALLY don't like losing money these days...
On a side note, it's interesting that they only show two pictures of LONG cracks and don't go too much into detail regarding criteria for what constitutes "Cracked Dashboard." In fact it basically says "Is the Dashboard Cracked? Yes/No... Yes, replace dashboard."

Thanks for the info. In addition to my 4R, my wife has an 09 Camry.
No Canadian notifications about the issue, but if we have a problem I will have some ammo to get it fixed.

Thanks Blackworks, just called my dealer and told me they can order parts and since they told me to wait until they had part numbers, they already took pictures and preformed their "inspection"

I saw this earlier today too, but you beat me to the punch.
Looks like I'm getting a new dashboard.

An update for those following the thread...
I'm trying to get mine replaced through the CSP and came across something worth noting. Parts has to get a picture of the cracks/stickiness to send to Warranty to review before they will release the new dashboard (basically at this time Warranty is reviewing each case individually and deciding if they will cover it on top of the technicians.) Unsure what Warranty is using as criteria for "Cracks" because it is not stated in the TSB, will see if I can get more information out of them when I send them my pictures.

I'm looking at the second PDF, and they talk about part 55401-35909 as an OFP. What is that part number in reference to? After getting my dash replaced they mentioned that part number in my invoice but I'm not sure if it's the old part and they're referencing it, they just replaced it with another one of the old dashes or its the new part number...

It stands for Original Failed Part

Yeah that was a bit confusing for the parts department as well when I was looking over the TSB with them. Usually the OFP (Original Failed Part as
@ ChaosStarter
mentioned) and "Previous Part Numbers" match up better in my experience.
Basically if you're looking over your copy of the repair order you should see the "Current Part Number" listed as what they ordered if they installed the "Superseded" part.

This is a picture of the receipt, can someone help me verify one way or another? It makes me think they just replaced it with an old part...

So right now 4Runner dashboards are on StopSale. I don't know why, but I'm trying to find out as I'm waiting in my dashboard.
@ svana
I could be wrong but that looks like the old part number, the. PDFs I linked show the new and old part numbers.
