@svana
I could be wrong but that looks like the old part number, the. PDFs I linked show the new and old part numbers.
That's my concern, I'm debating on what the best course of action at this point would be.

I called the dealership and they said they are currently performing these repairs (not really news I guess.) They say to bring it in to have it looked at and pictures taken which takes an hour. Then they send the pics to Toyota to review and order the dash pending the review.

I have some scratches on my dash that I dont think are from cracking. What are the odds they still replace the dash? Should I add some cracks of my own with an xacto knife in spots that I dont really notice?

Back from the dead!
Legally, that is fraud/false pretenses.

Morally, I think you know the answer.

I'm not sure what the cracks are from and Toyota doesn't ask you either...there are cracks there either way. They know all their dashes are prone to this. If I take it in as is and they replace it that is not fraud. Fraud would be if my dash was perfectly normal and I claimed that cracks I added were from poor design/wear. That would be idiotic. My remark, made in jest, was saying if I added cracks to an already cracked dashboard. They have no way to just repair the ones that are legitimate, nor would they care or try. If there are cracks from wear and tear then they are replacing the dash. I confirmed this with my buddy who works at a local dealership.

I would laugh if they tried to accuse me of fraud on a cracked dashboard, as much as I did when I saw your post.

Dasboard Replacement 2005 runner

Just thought I would post here about my experience with this issue...

3 months ago, I took my 4runner in to have the dash inspected and was initially turned away stating that my vehicle was too old. I called Toyota Corp to confirm I was covered and they confirmed I was...Dealearship honored the replacement. They put the dashboard on order, and I waited.....

Got a call this week saying the dashboard had arrived and I scheduled my appoint for this morning (1/12) to have it installed. Lucky me - get a call stating that the dashboard was damaged during delivery, and they wouldn't install it. SMH...i guess I'll be waiting another 3 months...
