Oil in radiator

my'85 2.4D has black oil in the radiator. the motor seems to run quite well. Is it possible that oil can get into the cooling system at the oil cooler. maybe due to there being some welch plugs in that area?

Does your radiator also cool the engine oil in a tank on the side? If so you may have a hole in that tank allowing an exchange of fluids. Check your crankcase oil for coolant.
