Hey Guys, BC is Beautiful and I can't wait to start exploring some of the back roads. Just picked up a book called Four Wheeling BC that is a must have for back road expeditions. The author rates all the roads and details where to find them using maps.
Slowly building my 99 4runner and hopefully will have it ready for next spring/summer.

Where did you buy the book from. I am a slight newbie to Vancouver (Near VGH) and want to start some mild exploring.

The book is called "The Four Wheeler's Companion" the off-road guide to Southern BC third edition by Mark Bostwick.
I purchased a used copy in excellent condition from Amazon.com for $8.00 and approx $11.00 for shipping.
This is the newest version revised in 1995. Not sure what has changed as far as some of the back roads still being open. I was talking with a male nurse at the BCCA and he had been on many of the back roads off the Coquahalla(sp?) hwy and he said that the country was beautiful.
Enjoy

You might want to try yotatech. There are more BC guys there who have runners and tacomas.
