Found 'em
So, long story short, I'd gotten a set of LIT running boards (only came on the 2003-09 Limited trim) and was LF the female plugs to connect them to the body electric. Well, the parts don't pull up on the Dealer database as the running boards (hereinafter referred to as RB's) are "NLA". Great... I had read that the plug to a side marker light was identical but when I looked it up, the marker plugs had an external sleeve which was also present on the RB's. So, I thought that if I pull enough pigtails at the junkyard, I am bound to find something that works. Which I did, sorta. The plugs that I needed were two (2) connector female with horizontal spades. After much trial and error I did find some that were matching but I had to take a pair of wire cutters and cut off the external sleeve and then grind down the flashing with a rotary tool. The ones that matched were BROWN in color.
The takeaways are as follows:
1. Non-Limited trim vehicles DO NOT have the lit RB prewired.
2. Don't drop a wire from one of the door puddle lights as it will only light the RB when THAT ONE particular door is open and ONLY on the same side.
3. All T4R will have a body plug (about 2" in diameter) for the RB wires just ahead of the front seat rear bolt which lines up with the location of the Toyota RB electric plug. Its easiest to see if you look underneath the truck just ahead of the B pillar.
4. Best way to wire the RB in is the hook up power to wires #2 and #6 off the back of the 7 pin black ignition key switch - that is what Toyota recommends - and then running 2 conductor wires to each side.
