Well I found a roll bar for $30 so all I need is a spare cover. If I can find one cheap I'd be down to put the roll bar in and cut up the spare cover. I'd imagine it wouldn't be too hard and I would sew some material around the cut part to retain the strength.

But the end piece that fits in the slots to keep the cover open. How would you get that past the roll bar?

Hmmm, didn't think of that one. I'd probably have to see with the roll bar in. I will not do this mod if I can't use my cargo cover. Too many break ins around here to not have one. It might be able to go diagonal and squeeze by. Maybe I will pick up that roll bar and do some experimenting.

the end piece of the cargo cover is a large piece of what feels like cardboard with two pegs on each end, you can make a cut that slighly seperate the bar from the actual cloth and bend the bar at a 90 degree angle and make them flexible, that way you can sneak pass the roll bad and once pass the roll bar, strighten them and slide into the slot, its actually super easy but i cant do it because my spare tire is in the back, if i dont have the spare the way i have it i would use my cargo cover.

Nice, yeah if I can find one cheap enough I will just start messing with it and see how it works. I can't imagine cutting it would be that big of a deal, but I don't want to start with my nice one. Thanks Eric.

$40 or below. I figured with the roll bar and cargo cover I could get close to breaking even selling my original cover.

well i paid 20 for the roll bar and 20 for the cnc cut mounting plate, so selling the cargo cover for 40 would break even for my roll bar mod, let me know if you want it for 40 if not i guess i'll wait till i make a tire swing out and use the cover again.

Let me think about it and if I do take you up on that offer I'll have someone pick it up at Jerry's on the 22nd. I can't make it because it is my fiance's bday, but I'm sure Jason or someone close to me is going. Might be checking out a 99 runner at a pick n pull tomorrow or monday so I'm hoping it will have one.

Fo sho, although everything in the yards are 50% this weekend. Might want to check any close to you out. I plan on getting some 2nd gen sway bar endlinks as well.
