Hi guys, so I've had my eyes out for a 5th gen for a few months now (after deciding that a 5th gen T4R would be smarter than getting a LR Defender 110 rusty money bucket)
So a few Fridays ago, I receive an email from Copart with a 2015 TRD Pro in Super White with only 7676mi going up for auction in 4 days so I contact my auction broker to bid for me!
Next thing you know I joined the T4R family with a '15 TRDP with a salvage title.
Rear axle shaft, lower link mount and some rear suspension parts need to be redone. Front end is untouched! Quoted for repair from a family friend and knew it'd be too good a deal to pass up. Super amped to get back in the Toyota family! I owned an 03 IS300 in 06-10
Now I just need to forget about her so I can receive a surprise call in the coming days to pick her up.
Here she is being forklifted onto a tow truck since she wasn't drivable.
Tell me about it! I wish I got a video of the forklift coming out of the lot with the truck. Dude was legit going 15mph carrying that thing I damn near shit myself. I heard of people seeing their cars being dropped off of the forklift by Copart forklift operators on accident!
Here she is the same day after dropped off at the trauma center.

Well, I can't say that I would start a build that way. None the less, I am intrigued how this turns out, you have my attention...

Edit: I don't understand how $7K of damage would total a $42K truck.
The shop working on the truck is a family friend, so he quoted me $20 instead of his normal $90 rate for labor plus 30% off OEM parts. Toyota quoted $7000 just for labor for the repair.
I was pretty nervous buying this since you would think that it takes a lot to total a new car, but I got the go ahead from our friend who specializes in rebuilding salvage titles!
I'm not surprised they totaled it. I've seen vehicles totaled with less than that.... I recently had a friend get in two separate car accidents (one personally and the other was his wife). His insurance company totaled both vehicles and one with what I would consider minor damage.
