Good point. You'd need to adapt it somehow if you wanted to use it, as the GoPro attachment is basically a hinge, while all other cameras use a screw into the base. Beyond the mounting system, though, you need to consider the durability of any other camera used in the manner of a GoPro--it is a shock-resistant design, with a durable sealed lens that other cameras won't have. If you really want to have a remote-mounted camera, you would probably do well to get something purpose-built for that, or risk destroying the one you hang out there.
