Starter Swapped, not fun at all
I changed my started out on my 97 4x4 Sr5 yesterday. I didnt understand why people change the contacts out in the frame. It seemed like it would be a pain, WRONG.
It took me about 2 hours to swap starters, but i had to loosed the power steering line, drop the exhaust for the downpipe/cat section.
I'm not sure who engineered this system, but the packaging was crazy tight.
In another 165,000 miles i'll swap the contacts out instead of swapping starters, or ill swap axles when i do the starter job.
