killed and 11 wounded, including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords,
who was severely wounded - clearly point to the need to ban
assault-style weapons, for stricter gun control laws and increased
criminal sanctions.

Spengler was provided firearms illegaly from a lawful owner.
Sandy Hook is still being sorted out and those firearms were obtained illegally from a lawful owner.
Columbine happened during the last firearm ban.
I could go on but this thread is likely already doomed... sorry New Yorkers. The only good news about them being first is that it may prove, in time, that criminals don't give a rats ass about new laws, before it goes federal.
