In NYC, this isnt legal. I agree about more control in some ways. And I agree with what you say above. But just trying to get a shotgun here for hunting is almost impossible. Over a year wait, and maybe you get it. Handgun? Forget it! You have to personally go to 1 Police Plaza to get an application after you show I.D. Unless you handle large cash amounts, a normal citizen will be denied a new permit for a handgun.
