What year is the truck? 84-89 have leaf sprung rear, 90-95 have coil spring suspension.
If you're saying what I think you're saying, it sounds like it's a lifted second gen? And nobody relocated or lengthened the panhard bar between the axle and the frame? That'd cause what you're describing.
