The argument "X is true because I trust Mr.A who says so" is quite different from the argument "X is true because I've read a scientific study and I accept its findings".
If you trust Dr.Amen that's perfectly fine, but it doesn't have anything to do with science. And it's not a good reason for other people to trust him, either.
