Yeah, I score the outside of the bottle. I then fill my measuring cup with water and put it in the microwave for 2 mins. Then have the sink on with cold running water. Pour hot water over score line, then under cold water and back and forth until the bottle comes apart.

I was expecting it to be a little intense when separating the bottle but it literally just came apart at the score line. No popping or cracking or exploding, which is what I was expecting.
