The threshold for premium increase could be lower where you live too. I was in the body shop industry for 30 yrs and I learned one thing very well. Don't trust an insurance company. They are only interested in 3 things, making money, keeping that money, and covering their ass. Not worth making a claim for that small damage. It would be different if you ran in to someone's Bentley. Non OEM bumpers are crap, but for short term it would be allright.
