All very valid points. That was initially my first concern too, but in the same discussion I don't really want to waste critical time deactivating a safety. I'm torn between both arguments.

As for the chamber indicator, I can't imagine ever carrying without one in the chamber, so no indicator needed. And if I ever wasn't sure, I'd be more likely to rack the slide a bit and check than look for that tiny obscure lever that's usually the same color as the slide. I've never really found an appreciation for that feature.
Really though, a J frame revolver would make a good first carry gun and is much easier to conceal than a full sized double stack gun. If was was still going into an office, that's probably what I would use specifically for that purpose, assuming business or business casual.

Like I said, I apreciate both arguments. Ultimately, the greatest safety is located between your ears. And between having an extra safety vs extra time (even if it's only .5 seconds), I think I would generally take the reaction time.
I'm honestly not a big fan of revolvers for whatever reason. But since I'm 6' 2" and about 220, I'm not too worried about concealment. I think I could conceal a full size 1911 no problem if I had the right holster for it.
