This went off topic.... might as well embrace it

Like 1engineer, I too have studied this topic using multiple resources over the last 5 years or so. There are politicians and others who seem to believe if they repeat the term “consensus” over and over again enough times, many people will start to believe them.
Unfortunately for the alarmists, there are too many credible scientists in the field of study who have clearly shed light on distortion of facts. This would include Dr. Richard Lindzen at MIT and Drs. McNider and Christy of University of Alabama, all three professors of atmospheric science.
Lindzen was very effective early in the debate at pointing out not only were the models inconclusive, but that there was a concerted effort to systematically silence and cut funding to any researchers who didn’t support Gore’s warming theory.
More recently, McNider and Christy were able to clarify how deeply flawed the climate models have been. Here’s a direct quote from the McNider article in the Wall St. Journal 2/19/2014:
“The rate of warming forecast by these models depends on many assumptions. We might forgive these modelers if their forecasts had not been so consistently and spectacularly wrong.” –see chart

You have to admit though, Al Gore has had the last laugh. He made millions on his movie even before it was
discovered he had used fictional Hollywood clips of ice shelf movement taken from the fiction film “The Day After Tomorrow”. Then after he paraded as anti-oil for years, he had no qualms about selling his TV network to Al Jazeera, which is funded by the Qatari government and one of the biggest exporters of oil in the world. Wait, where did Gore study atmospheric science? Oh that's right he didn't! in fact he's a law school dropout... but a very rich one...
