The location of the cruise control stalk behind the steering wheel rim is Toyota's corporate location, and has been for a decade or more. IMHO, this is an excellent control, ergonomically way better than the steering wheel buttons that were on our BMW 528i.

Now if you want to experience a truly sucky cruise control stalk, go drive a Mercedes!
