All of the black trim (except the roof wind deflector) on my X was painted over 3 years before these pics were taken.
As with any painting, good results depend on good prep. I cleaned everything thoroughly, including using DupliColor's grease & wax remover, then followed the directions exactly and used the supplemental products like their Adhesion Promoter as directed. Everything held up very well. |
I can definitely see this product being effective for early 4th gen owners ('03ish) whose cladding faded horribly over the years...from a nice shade of grey to faded white/grey giving it an inconsistent / trashy look. Is this the only color available or is it possible to replicate the original grey cladding that came with the 4Runner at time of production? Might be a deal breaker if it's only available in black...if I had cladding, I'd probably opt for grey paint depending on color of the 4Runner.
