PSA Maxxis Bighorn 255 85 on sale for $156 today

I picked up 5 of them shipped for $851 ($100 cheaper than the next cheapest site)

The longer story - I’ve been shopping for the last week comparing prices on 255 85 tires and I swear to god the cheapest I saw this tire was $178. Even as of yesterday Walmart did not have them this cheap.

Then tonight I found it at Walmart.com through a google shopping ad for only for $156.

If you go through their normal site it’s $210 per tire, so this is quite a bit cheaper.

If you’re in the market pull the trigger!

I tried to order them, but Walmart.com wont accept either of my cards ...


Edit: I was able to use PayPal attaches to the same card just fine. Thanks for the heads up. I was debating between these and Swamper TsL 34x10.5, but this price made it an easy decision.

I am very happy with my bighorns. I do still get stuck, but only cause I am an idiot. There is no fixing that. Great in sand, too.

Good to hear! I read extensively and it was up between this and Dick Cepek Extreme Country.

I ended up with these because almost everyone had great things to say about them.

Also it appears the diameter is above 33” where the Extreme country is actually 32.8” - a slight difference sure.

It’s also load range D which I wanted, although the Dick Cepek is E, the 2-ply sidewall apparently gives a softer ride.

The Dick’s do weigh less (it’s been reported 49lbs to 51 lbs) but the bighorns only weigh slightly more at 53.

Then of course the $300 price difference is the cherry on top.

Glad you got in on it! One of my cc’s was getting rejected too, but I switched to another and it was fine.

It’s been my experience that load range D is a bit much for these 4runners and the ride suffers.
I couldn’t imagine a load range E on a 3rd gen. Probably feel like you had solid tires on it at street pressures.

Agree completely - I don’t even want a mud terrain. I’d have bought a Falken at3w in 255/85 load C in a heartbeat.

I know there are a few AT’s in 255 but the tread pattern is a little old or it’s a commercial pattern for work trucks, and I want a little bit of steeze.

There’s just not much selection in this size. I probably won’t notice much of a difference in ride anyway, mine already pretty stiff.

Got them in yesterday and mounted today. They look great on my new VTX Rogue 16”s

Because of the offset of the wheels and the 8” rim the tires don’t look too skinny at all and are flush with the limited flares. I love it.

The 16”s have 4.00 backspacing and just barely clear the tundra 199mm brakes.

I had to go to 3 different tire shops because the first 2 couldn’t get the bead of the tire onto the wheel and ****ed up one of my wheels pretty good.

Finally got them to Whitey’s Tire today and they got them on, but it took them a lot of force.

I’m getting a little bit of rub while turning, I had to get to the office but I’ll take a look tonight and see if I need to hammer my pinch weld and maybe the rear inside of the flares.

Then to a real alignment shop to see if they can set my caster to get the tires more forward. (firestone here in Brooklyn is braindead, so my lifetime alignment there is a waste)

Remove the bottommost screws from the flares and hammered the pinch weld flat. Also cut the fender liner and the bottom inside of the flare a bit

Fingers crossed I think that might have done it. I know IFS doesn’t have much travel up front, so I cranked the wheel to the right and drove up the curb for some baby flex. It didn’t rub!
