I installed my rack during the weekend, But unfortunately came across this thread after the fact. I also ended up tightening the bolts not knowing how tight they should be, and ended up crushing the washers flat. So now I will also wait for the washers to be up on the site to replace them. Sigh! It's a great quality rack, but I agree that the installation instructions should be more detailed.
