I looked into replacing my thermostat and I discovered, to my displeasure, that it is one hell of a big job. At least according to Haynes Repair Manual, you would have to remove the radiator and most of the front part of the engine, including the timing belt.
As for me, I'm going to let sleeping dogs lay.
